About Sally Hart Petersen
 
 
I moved to Ann Arbor from Massachusetts in 1996 with my husband Tim and 5-week old baby Jack. Tim convinced me that it would be possible to live and work and raise a family all in Ann Arbor. And he was right. 

 

I became a volunteer in this community from the start. I joined the Significant Others and Spouses (SOS) Club at the University of Michigan Business School (now Ross) and chaired a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House. Later, I served as President and Co-President of the Angell PTO and Tappan PTSO. I have been a Board Member of the Ann Arbor Art Center, the Ann Arbor Area Community Tennis Association, and the Racquet Club of Ann Arbor. I am a Past President of the Junior League of Ann Arbor, Inc. and am currently a Board Member of the Neutral Zone and the Huron high School Athletic Booster Club. 

We have now lived in the Ann Arbor Hills neighborhood of Ward 2 for 15 years. Tim has successfully launched his own company in Ann Arbor, and we are the parents of two teenagers; Jack now 16 and Jane, 14.  I've become increasingly intrigued by the challenges and issues this city faces. I am not a career politician, but I feel my business and community leadership experience prepares me well to be an effective leader in this city.

Vice President, Marketing, HealthMedia, Inc. Ann Arbor, MI 2005-2007

Led the Marketing Department of this venture-backed, locally founded company providing tailored online behavior change programs for employees and health plan members. Managed and oversaw marketing and promotional presence as well as expert speaking engagements at trade shows and conferences. Wrote and distributed press releases, cultivating key industry press relationships. Led the launch of a series of new stress management products after acquiring subsidiary. Contributed to the achievement of over 20% revenue growth each year between 2005 and 2007, and positioning the company for subsequent acquisition by Johnson&Johnson, Inc.

First Vice President, ABN AMRO Mortgage Group, Ann Arbor MI 2003-2005, Manager, Customer Information Group

Created the Customer Information Group to develop mortgage broker satisfaction studies, ultimately linking increases in broker satisfaction to increases in revenue for AAMG. Managed the deployment and analysis of employee satisfaction studies. Participated in executive management leadership team to develop market strategy.

Co-Director of Marketing, CFI Group, Inc. Ann Arbor, MI 2010-2011. Associate Consultant 1996-2010

Led the business development efforts for this customer satisfaction measurement and consulting firm. Conducted marketing presentations to build pipeline of business among Fortune 500 companies. Achieved over 100% of marketing goal. Garnered corporate sponsorship for the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) housed at the University of Michigan.
